Bite Problems

Under Bite - This 16 year old patient didn't want to smile. He wore brace, followed Dr. Campbell's instructions faithfully and completed his treatment without the need for jaw surgery in less than 15 months.

Cross Bite - This patient's upper front tooth fits behind the lower teeth resulting in a crossbite or "scissors bite" effect. These teeth can be chipped or broken very easily. The crossbite was successfully treated with a removable appliance in 4 weeks as part of early interceptive treatment.

Early Treatment - Early intervention frequently makes the completion of treatment at a later age easier and faster. Dr. Campbell was able to expand this patient's palate at an early age to make room for all the permanent teeth. Therefore extractions were not necessary. Full braces were worn at a later time achieving this great result!

Crowding - A common problem seen in patients is crowding.  This patient completed early interceptive treatment as well as Phase II treatment and look at the beautiful results!

Anterior Spacing - Full braces were worn by this patient for 15 months. Notice how the correction of the deep bite allowed Dr. Campbell to close the spacing between his teeth.

Open Bite - This patient's front teeth did not come together due to a severe tongue thrust.   She received speech therapy to retrain her tongue and cooperated with Dr. Campbell's instructions resulting in this beautiful and healthy smile. It is often difficult for patients with this problem to chew and speech may be affected.

Deep Bite - Because the upper teeth abnormally covered too much of this patient's lower teeth, she was biting into the roof of her mouth. Orthodontic treatment by Dr. Campbell prevented further crowding and premature tooth wear.

Missing Laterals - This patient is missing both his right and left upper permanent laterals. With full braces for 14 months, Dr. Campbell was able to give this patient a healthy smile without the need for major implant or restorative work.
